OUR APPROACH

We support projects that promote sustainable education and development of the university and society. In the spirit of the "Stuttgarter Weg", our focus is on innovative projects that use the potential of different academic disciplines and seek responsible solutions in dialogue with partners from society.

The themes of sustainable development are evident not only in smarter and more rational resource utilization and changes in lifestyles but also in transformative and collaborative teaching and learning formats.

Stuttgarter Change Labs are being supported by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Art of Baden-Württemberg since 2017.

Future-Oriented and Community-Based

Projects address real societal questions, challenges, and needs. Solutions for a sustainable society in terms of social, ecological, economic, and political sustainability are being developed.

Practice-Oriented

Academic knowledge is applied in societal contexts based on specific needs. Project-based learning formats are developed and implemented at the intersection of research, teaching, and practice.

Committed

The complex projects can only be realized with great commitment from all participants.

Cooperative and Interconnected

Problems, risks and challenges of our world can only be resolved and tackled in a sustainable way if we responsibly utilize the diversity of our perspectives, knowledge and competencies in successful cooperation.

Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary

Projects are planned and implemented not only in collaboration with various academic disciplines but also with partners from society. Created dialogues enhance knowledge transfer and contribute to sustainable development.

Innovative

Stuttgarter Change Labs projects are innovative in their solutions, processes, structures, and resource utilization. Teaching and learning formats promote skills and engagement far beyond the academic context.
